Female Faces

Chased by an invisible threat, a young woman is running for her life in a desolate space barren of life until her lungs begin to hurt. She stops and catches her breath. Out of nowhere, a beam of light, like a prison yard searchlight, engulfs her, and in its brightness, she freezes. Bewildered, she slowly turns and faces away only to be met by another beam shone from another direction. And then another. With every fleeing step, a beam of light is right there to meet her, gradually surrounding her in a whirling stroboscopic frenzy. This suffocating exposure to the light drives her into a series of convulsions during which her appearance shifts, her face morphs into many; momentarily turning into different women of disparate cultures, age groups, identities. Unable to sustain the torment, she kneels and at the last moments she yells out a ferocious scream which shatters the lightbulbs, killing the light and with it, dismantling her paralysing fear.
