Prem ‘Dilwala’ (Salman Khan) is a happy go lucky man who does ‘Ramleelas’ in Ayodhya, India…He knows all the Shlokas by heart and the purity of the scriptures resonate in all his pranks and fun. All that he earns, he donates to a charitable fund which is run by Princess Maithili (Sonam Kapoor). He is enchanted by the simplicity of her nature, her leading a normal life and yet being brave enough to save people in the middle of floods. She is engaged to Yuvraj Vijay Singh who is a look-alike of Prem Dilwala. Vijay Singh is attacked by his family members and kept in safety in an old tehkhana. Prem Dilwala is asked to impersonate him till he becomes all right. The film is all about Prem Dilwala’s journey to bring this family together, bring out their purer selves. There is nothing more important than the family as a unit.
